Bio

Dmitri Alano grew up in near Bloomington, Indiana and has played the Irish flute, penny whistle and highland bagpipes for over 25 years.  He is probably most known for his decade-long stint as multi-instrumentalist with the renowned shanty band, Hogeye Navvy.  He holds a bachelor of Music Education from Butler University, where he studied classical trumpet and has taught high school bands for nearly two decades. He is the director of the Irish Arts Academy of Indianapolis, The Indianapolis Céilí Band and is the leader of the Irish band, Ennis Clare.
